The Denver Broncos and the representatives for cornerback Chris Harris Jr. are reportedly working toward a restructured deal, according to Mike Klis of 9News.
Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic provided a breakdown of what the new contract could entail:
Chris Harris’ contract negotiations with the Broncos are still focused a pay raise for 2019, allowing him to hit free agency in 2020 or re-up with Denver on a new deal after this season, I’m told. The sides continue to make progress on reaching an agreement.
Harris currently has a base salary of $7.8 million and a cap hit of up to $8.77 million for 2019 before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2020, per Spotrac.
